THE BASICS
Bronze, which Panerai first used for a diving watch back in 2011, “reinforces the brand’s connection with the sea where bronze is used not only for its resistance to the corrosive elements of seawater,” Panerai notes. Additionally, it is also “an extraordinary and fascinating material which matures with the passage of time, acquiring a patina which gives unique character to each timepiece.” The new Submersible Bronze case is constructed from the bronze alloy CuSn8, which blends copper and tin in their pure states, which is both structurally strong and highly corrosion-resistant. Bronze, historically associated with ships, diving equipment, and various nautical pursuits.
